The 25th Annual 2-Man Captain’s Choice Golf Tournament, scheduled the Friday before Summerfest on Saturday, August 26, at Spring Lake Country Club, is a familiar lead-in to York’s Summerfest activities.
Sponsored by the Bank of York, the tournament begins with a high noon shotgun start. Players are encouraged to register early to ensure acceptance to the tournament, as the tournament typically fills up early. The field is limited to the first 64, 2-man teams (128 players). The field also includes a Senior Flight for ages 60 and older, whom play from the gold tees. However, there must be at least a minimum of four, 2-man teams to justify the Senior Flight.
USGA rules apply, with handicaps verified. The entry fee, determined annually per participant, includes green and cart fees, prizes, lunch, cocktail party and gifts for each player. There are also prizes for closest to the hole on the par 3’s, longest drive, and drawings for other prizes, including a grand prize.
Registration is from 10 a.m. until Noon, and lunch begins at 10:30 a.m. followed closely by the Shotgun start at noon. The cocktail party and awards presentation is at 5 p.m.
